Certifications

  • Center for Creative Leadership, 3600 Feedback process.
  • Myers-Briggs Certification, Otto Kroeger & Associates.
  • Mediation Certification – Currently, there is no national certification for Mediators, nor specific certification for Mediators serving in the District of Columbia .  Generally, Mediators are recognized as being qualified (or certified) after they have received a minimum of 40 hours of training in mediation techniques or for specific areas of focus.  Some CMS Associates may have State or Court approved certification for near-by states, such as Virginia or Maryland . 

The Principle Mediator for CMS has received 40 hours of training from the Center for Dispute Settlement, Washington , DC.   This course is approved by the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution.  He has also received 40 hours of training for Child Protection cases through the DC Superior Court (conducted by the Mediation Institute, University of South Florida ); Advanced Facilitation Skills training from the USDA Graduate School , and additional training from the Mediation Training Institute International, for the Mediator Certification Conference. 

 

Affiliations

 

CMS is affiliated with the Afro-American Counseling and Psychotherapy Institute, Washington , DC .  For cases requiring professional mental health evaluations or diagnostic services, clients may be referred to this organization for psychoanalysis or treatment.  Clients referred will need to follow the fee scheduled established by this organization.
